Eden Valley is one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine regions – and, at 550 metres above sea level at its peak, also one of the highest! Characterised by its rugged beauty, the Eden Valley is part of the Barossa Ranges, and actually shares its western boundary with the Barossa.
Eden Valley wines are distinctive in their character, displaying wonderful aromatics, elegance, complexity and finesse. Altitude, aspect and slope are all important in determining the characteristics of the best Eden Valley wines, and the Avon Brae vineyard is no exception. Situated in the south western side of Eden Valley, the Avon Brae vineyard has the elevation and higher rainfall that results in Shiraz wines with more plum and strawberry fruit flavours and spicy notes.
