Light meat and seafood dishes.

Subtle use of French oak.

Pale straw with green hues.

Lifted white peach and stone fruits. Fresh crisp tropical fruit characters with just a smidgen of oak.

Medium bodied with only a minor oak influence, this wine displays many of the attractive varietal fruit characters of the Chardonnay grape. Ripe tropical fruits of melon and peach are balanced by crisp acids and a lovely mouthfeel. This is value for money Chardonnay at its best.

Saint Martin lived from 316 to 397 A.D and started his career as a pagan soldier in the Roman army. He left the army to become a Christian monk, where he gained a reputation for healing the sick using herbs and wine as medicines. In 372 A.D he was appointed Bishop of Tours, a position which enabled him to establish several parishes and vineyards along the Loire Valley. According to popular legend, it was St Martin who accidentally introduced pruning to the Loire area when his donkey chewed some vines right back to their stocks, a 'disaster' which resulted in a bumper crop the next year. His contribution to the wine industry was considerable, and this soft, easy drinking white pays tribute to this.
