As its name suggests it, La Grande Année Rosé is a derivation from the blend of La Grande Année, which is only produced when exceptional quality harvests occur. To this fine blend is incorporated some red wine from Champagne, in particular some wine produced from the "La CÃ´te aux Enfants" grapes, an exceptional little piece of land that is less than 1 hectare (2,5 acres)in size, situated in the heart of the village of AÃ¿. Not only is "La CÃ´te aux Enfants" red wine not produced every year, but it is also not necessarily produced in the same vintages as that of La Grande Année-¦ Consequently, the production of La Grande Année Rosé remains a true exception. La Grande Année Rosé is a beautifully structured and powerful rosé, with a deep colour and rich aromas. An exclusive blend of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus: The grapes come exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus. 17 villages have entered in the 1999 blend, 82% from Grands Crus and 18% from Premiers Crus.
