Background

Shiraz grapes from selected vineyards were co-fermented with small batches of Viognier grapes in temperature controlled stainless steel for around 7-10 days, to maximise colour and flavour extraction. After primary fermentation the wines were pressed and underwent malolactic fermentation on French and American oak before being blended and filtered prior to bottling. The earlier than expected 2016 harvest delivered fruit with excellent varietal characters resulting in wine with an ideal balance of sugar, acid, colour and flavour.
