Background

Coonawarra's reputation for age worthy wines revolves around the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Shiraz varieties - but the region's early history focussed on other varieties and in particular, Shiraz. Formally known as "Hermitage", Wynns Black Label Shiraz is an icon of Australian wine. The fruit for Black Label is selected from our oldest shiraz vineyards, including Undoolya, which was first planted in 1894. The Black Label "Old Vines" Shiraz 2016 is a superb example of Coonawarra's cool climate style. Perfumed and bright on the nose, with a soft, creamy palate, the 2016 vintage produced a wine of balanced concentration.
