Background

In 1968 Len Evans had a vision of creating a winery which produced a premium single vineyard wine to be directly marketed to the consumer. Together with ten businessmen and professionals his dream came to life.Erected in 1971 just in time for vintage, the winery was regarded as being years ahead of its time aesthetically and functionally - the design winning a national architectural award.
