French and American Oak
Deep redblack colour
rich bouquet of chocolate and black forest fruits.
This is a full bodied wine with soft, velvet tannins and a long finish. While drinking beautifully now, it can be cellared with confidence for another 5-10 years.
Fruit was fermented on skins for seven days. Following pressing, clarification and blending, the wine was matured in French and American oak hogsheads for 12 months prior to bottling. The 2012 vintage came early and was very small. The weather was quite mild throughout and the quality of the red wines is outstanding- they are beautifully balanced with great colour and varietal definition and should age gracefully for many years. Sourced from selected premium Shiraz vineyards located throughout the Barossa. In 1840 William Jacob, Assistant Surveyor to the colony of South Australia, carried out 'The Seven Special Surveys' to establish the boundaries of what we now know as the Barossa. This full-bodied Seven Surveys Shiraz is Peter Lehmann Wines' tribute to the pioneering families who settled in the Barossa during the 1840s - many of whose descendants are still tending to the vineyards from their forebears. These old, low-yielding vines thrive to this day, with our growers proud custodians of a piece of Barossa's history and guardians to the future of great Barossan wines.
