Dorrien Estate is a 5 Star Halliday rated winery, and its Bin Series is a popular favourite with our customers. The smooth and luscious Shiraz has amazing depth and flavour, with a nice touch of spice that makes it really lovely to drink. It's the perfect barbecue wine, and will go down a treat with marinated pork ribs.

Foods

Seared Kangaroo fillet with Moroccan spices or mushroom stroganoff.

Oak

6 - 12 months matured on oak.

Colour

Mid-dark garnet with purple hues.

Nose

Full and ripe aromas of lifted red berry fruit and a hint of chocolate with overlays of oak complexity.

Palate

Smooth and well rounded with great depth of bright red berry flavour. Rich full mid palate of plum and black cherry chocolate and textural leathery tannins.

Background

A no nonsense red that is big on flavour and body. Dorrien has a part in the history of the wine industry, it was originally established in the 1950's as the winery for Woodley Queen Adelaide. Barossa Valley is one of the most important wine producing region in Australia and it will always be so. Peter Lehmann, Seppelt, Wolf Blass, Penfolds are all based in the Barossa.
