Background
To know the future of organic viticulture and winemaking is bright, but to have no-one quite ready to believe you, feels like a lifetime ago. This Cassandra Shiraz reflects diligence in self-belief and hard work. A richly scented and flavoursome organically made wine perfect now or will reward careful cellaring. 2018 began well with solid winter rains replenishing the soil from the year prior. The vines had very good vigour throughout spring but with the drying of summer it was kept in check. A couple of light rain events in the new year and cool weather kept ripening at moderate pace before beautiful warm days and sunshine toward the end of summer finished ripening off perfectly. This should be considered a very good year for most growers.
