Potato gnocchi, roast chicken and almost all lamb dishes.

Aged for 16 months in 1-4 year old French Oak.

Ruby red with black hues.

Black plums, marshmallow, red currants, a little meaty: like a butcher's shop, with savoury notes on the back.

A very generous wine, luscious in the mouth with lovely sweetness. The richness of the nose follows through to the palate with favours of plums and currants dominating. One of the great characteristics of Merlot is its sweetness and this wine does not disappoint. Lovely, integrated, soft tannins create a firm back palate without being overpowering. A little gem!

The 2014 to 2015 growing season presented us with a hot and dry spring, resulting in early onset of flowering. January brought warm but not extreme temperatures. A series of heat waves in February brought the vintage on very quickly. Good water management ensured that the vines had adequate reserves leading up to the harvest. Vintage commenced early and was over in a flash, but the resulting wines show wonderful natural acidity and flavour intensity.
