Before enterprising pioneer John Riddoch planted the first grape vines in the rich terra rossa earth of Coonawarra a century ago, he was a brickmaker in his Scottish homeland. His name lives on today through the Brickmaker wines.

Background

Compared to recent years, Coonawarra's 2017 vintage was later than usual with a cool growing season. Overall harvest temperatures were slightly warmer than average, producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with strong varietal and regional character.
