Before enterprising pioneer John Riddoch planted the first grape wines in the rich terra rossa earth of Coonawarra a century ago, he was a brickmaker in his Scottish homeland. His name lives on today through The Brickmaker wines. This well structured Cabernet expresses rich, dark berry fruit with a hint of mint and subtle oak, and makes a great match for a slow cooked beef casserole.

Background

Coonawarra's 2016 vintage was noted for its dry, mild conditions and below average rainfall. These dry conditions continued throughout the growing season and produced red wines with great colour and fine tannins.
