Lush lamb shanks with peas and mash potatoes.
New French & American oak hogs heads and 2nd use French oak.
Very intense deep purple-red.
Concentrated chocolate, plum and dried herbs - rich varietal characters, all combined with integrated fine toasty French and American oak; a very concentrated and complex bouquet.
Great depth of concentrated rich fruit with typical varietal characteristics of tobacco and tea leaf notes combined with ripe blackcurrants, the intense fruit from the nose follows through on the palate. Well structured and even tannins balanced with fine acidity and rich earthy flavours produce a very special wine of great complexity and length.
South Australia's Limestone Coast is beginning to encroach on Coonawarra's uniqueness. There is no doubt that Coonawarra is this areas most renowned but coming from behind Padthaway, Wrattonbully, Robe and Mt Benson are all proving to be worthy contenders to the heavyweight title. Wines from the relatively new Mount Benson region, in the rugged, remote south east corner of South Australia, are making a great impact with wine critics and on the international wine show circuit. The grapes awere sourced from Andrew and Melinda Murdocks state of the art vineyards. These veinyards were planted specifically to Cabernet Sauvignon as this area has the closest degree day summation statistics to Bordeaux as it is possible to find in South Australia.
