Pat and Vicki Vasarelli have been growing Cabernet Franc on their McLaren Vale vineyards for almost 30 years. The vines are lovingly hand tended, giving the fruit an exceptional level of quality. It will partner cured meats and tomato-based pasta dishes.

Partial maturation in American and French oak barrels.

Deep purple red.

Black and red berry aromas combine with some herbal hints and a touch of spice and toasted cedar-like oak scents.

An excellent example of Cabernet Franc with concentrated ripe dark berry fruits, complexed by underlying savoury characters in the mid-palate and vanillin oak flavours, balanced by long, fine grained tannins.

Cabernet Franc has generally been planted in Australia with the intention of blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to emulate the red wines of Bordeaux. In certain regions, however, the Australian climate has produced fruit with enough flavour to make a terrific wine on its own. The Vasarelli Vineyard is one such spot, and this wine is a lovely example of the variety.
