Nose

Ripe aromas of cassis and mulberry leaf with an array of spices including sage and bay leaf. Subtle vanillin oak with underlying earth and tobacco characters.

Palate

Elegantly structured, showing great intensity of varietal Cabernet fruit character, plush mouthfeel with sweet fruit being balanced by the soft, firm tannins that add structure and great length.

Background

Geographe in South Western Australia was recognised as a premium area for grape growing as early as the 1920s and 1930s, though it fell into neglect during World War 2 when the Italian growers were interned for the war. In the early 1970s this area as super premium wine region was again recognised.
