This is a very special release of a remarkable Tawny from the award wining Tolley label. Made from selected parcels of fruit sourced from grape growing regions renowned for their fortified wines this Tawny is rich and complex with lots of sweet, nutty flavours restrained by the excellent acidity and dry old oak tannin finish.

5 - 8 year old oak barrels for maturation

Colour

Medium tawny brown due to the extended oak maturation.

Nose

Fantastic concentrated aroma of rancio, liquorice and raisin fruit combined with lifted brandy spirit (the fortifying agent).

Palate

Rich and complex with lots of sweet, nutty flavours restrained by the excellent acidity and dry old oak tannin finish. The flavours persist long into the aftertaste.

Background

Aged in older oak barrels which simply give a slow controlled "oxidation" to the maturing wine.
