Palate: A blend of 93% Shiraz 7% Muscadelle from the Ebenezer district of the Barossa. The Muscadelle highlights the delightful dark cherry and wild brambly lifted notes of Barossa Shiraz. It is a vibrant wine, beautifully structured, with a pleasing texture and delightfully soft tannins.

Background:

A unique blend showing all the hallmarks of a top red wine vintage. The 2008 vintage after an early start, was marked by perfect harvest weather, warm days and cool nights during February. This was then followed by a burst of heat at the end. Shiraz from the Schrapel and Falkenberg families vineyards and the Muscadelle from a patch of very old vines tended by the Falkenberg family, all from the Ebenezer district of the Barossa.
