Region: Orange, New South Wales.

Foods: Seafood paella or chicken pasta salad.
Oak: Subtle use of oak.
Colour: Bright light straw with intense lime green hues.
Nose: Fresh and complex tropical fruit characters.
Palate: The wine is not overtly fruity, it has spent time on yeast lees and old barrels to give a more subtle elegant fruit characters. The wine has an excellent texture that is very mouth filling but soft and very resistant fruit characters.

Background:

2009 delivered a cool classic winter. Buds started bursting in late September with good rains through November and December. An appreciated return to good seasonal patterns. The grapes were picked in the early morning. Once pressed, the juice was allowed to settle before racking off lees to another tank. Fermentation occurred at a moderate temperature, taking about 25 days to complete. The wine remained on lees for 4 months, with regular stirring to build palate texture. Download as PDF
