The Riddoch label showcases the Coonawarra region, creating wines of great character and style. This dark, spicy Shiraz is full bodied with intense flavours of white pepper, ripe red berries and charry oak. It's richly textured and finishes dry with rich but not aggressive tannin, firm astringency and good persistence of fruit and oak flavours.

Jancis Robinson describes Hunter Semillon as one of the most idiosyncratic and historic wine types exclusive to the New World. This one is simply superb. If you like aged Hunter Semillon, then tuck it away in your cellar for a while. If you like shimmeringly fresh mouth-watering ripe fruit and crisp, zesty acids drink it right now!

The Sounds Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

(12 bottles)

  • 1 Silver
  • The palate is weighty with vibrant fruit
  • One of our customers' most popular labels
The epitome of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, offering all the freshness and intensity you'd expect from this popular wine style that is winning the world over. Its a blend of two vineyard parcels, both in the Wairau and both showing lovely passion fruit and lifted lime citrus notes.

Balnarring Mornington Peninsula Pinot Grigio 2012

(12 bottles)

  • 1 Bronze
  • Unoaked the fruit is the star!
  • Delicious pear and honeysuckle characters
My favourite wine style is Pinot Grigio not too alcoholic, with lovely aromatics, length and it suits the foods that people enjoy. Made from a couple of vineyards in the warmer parts of the Mornington Peninsula, this sits more in the Grigio camp than the 'Gris' camp (I find Pinot Gris a bit, retro, like the Baroness in the Sound of Music a little bit out of date!). This is more like... speedboats, bare-chested men and pistachio nuts its a lot cooler! Kathleen Quealy, winemaker.

Mockingbird Hill Clare Valley Riesling 2013

(12 bottles)

  • 1 Gold, 1 Bronze
  • In the style of Leo Buring, Barrys and Pikes
  • Great potential to age
Pale quartz; lime juice coats the mouth in a thoroughly seductive fashion, backed by slippery acidity that stops the wine going over the top. This is a first class Clare riesling vintage. 94 points, James Halliday winecompanion.com.au
