Not all Cleanskins are created equal

We’ve all walked into a bottle shop and been assaulted by the number of Cleanskins available, (sometimes for less than the price of a bottle of water), only to then be insulted when you finally open them. As the saying goes, “When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is”!

Unfortunately it’s now patently obvious that some bottleshop chains and liquor store behemoths are perverting the real Cleanskin story and cynically using it as a means to slop barrel dregs and runoff into a bottle and sell it for whatever they can charge without blushing. Make no mistake: The Cleanskins we sell are wines that we have sold – and will sell in the future – for much more than we’re asking for now.

The reason they’re offered to you as Cleanskins is simple: we have a temporary oversupply that we want to clear, but winemakers quite sensibly refuse to let their wines be sold for so little. While we want to deliver the best possible price to our Members, we won’t trash well-respected, quality brands simply to solve a short-term stock problem.

So to keep both Members and winemakers happy, we simply strip back the labels and the price. Same quality wine + same winemaker expertise – label = Massive bargains. So there’s your choice: the cynical cleanskin con versus Cellarmasters’ Cleanskin policy... The difference is in the glass.
