Mark Robertson
Tasting Panel Chairman, Winemaker & Wine Judge
With more than 25 years of winemaking experience, Mark has crafted scores of trophy and
award-winning wines in Australia and New Zealand, and even France.
As Chief Winemaker for Matua Valley Wines in New Zealand he collected many prestigious awards, including Australasian Winestate Magazine NZ Winemaker of the Year and World’s Best Chardonnay at the 2002 London International Wine and Spirit Competition.
It’s not surprising, then, to learn Mark is also a respected International and Australian Wine
Show Judge.
Meg Brodtmann
Master of Wine
Meg holds the ultimate wine industry qualification: a Master of Wine. It’s a distinction so rareand difficult to achieve that in its 55-year history there have been less than 275 Masters of
Wine worldwide, and of those, only 17 in Australia. In fact, Meg is one of only two Australian female Masters of Wine.
If that isn’t impressive enough, Meg is also a trophy-winning winemaker and an International and Australian Wine Show Judge. She brings a world of experience to the panel – her passion for wine has flourished thanks to stints in France, Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Hungary, Romania and of course, Australia.
Kirsty Glaetzer
Winemaker & Wine Judge
The Glaetzer family has been a part of Australian viticulture history since 1888. In fact, they are some of the earliest recorded viticulturalists in the Barossa and Clare Valleys. Yet despite being a member of one of Australia’s most famous winemaking dynasties, Kirsty is a trophy-winning winemaker and Australian wine show judge in her own right.
Kirsty has more than 15 years’ experience in the wine industry, most recently as Senior White Winemaker at Wolf Blass. Before this, she was winemaker at Krondorf Wines and lab manager at Yellowglen, specialising in white and sparkling wines.
These days, Kirsty is busy with her own wine label – Looking Glass Wines – with business partner Jane Osborne.
John Parkinson
Wine Judge & Expert
An industry legend, John judged at national and international wine shows for around 20 years. He was also the Wine Writer for the Sydney Morning Herald for many years, and edited The Wine and Spirit Buying Guide.
As well as all this, John has been a consultant to the Wine & Brandy Corporation, promoting Australian wine in markets such as America, Canada and Japan. It’s with such extensive experience and expertise that John helps us choose wines for you.
Now you’ve met them…
